Jeff Dunham Tickets - Two-Time Winner of the Ventriloquist of the Year Award (funny stuff)

By Brent Warnken

Jeff Dunham has been called one of the funniest stand-up comics alive, and his show definitely enjoyable. As a ventriloquist and excellent straight-man, Dunham has some of the funniest and most bizarre partners in the business. These characters include Walter, the grouchy old curmudgeon; Jose Jalapeno, the talking jalapeno on a stick; Bubba J, the redneck NASCAR enthusiast; Achmed, the dead terrorist; and Peanut, the…well he’s the purple one with lots of energy. Whatever else happens in your week, you are certain to laugh when Jeff Dunham and his rag-tag band come on stage.

Dunham famously said “It’s much harder to write clean. It’s much easier to throw in a dirty word. It’s like putting spice on bad food. You have a dish that doesn’t taste very good. Well throw a little spice her and there…It’s the same thing with comedy, if your joke is not quite good enough, put the f-bomb in front of the punch line and it’s much funnier. But…if you remove it…then it shows you the pure joke.” Dunham lives up to his quote, presenting intelligent and funny comedy routines that will have you laughing so hard you will barely be able to stand up, even if you take out the spice.

Jeff Dunham tickets are a great way to get some of that therapeutic laughter that will make your crazy week seem that much better. Dunham’s suitcase full of comic characters will have you gasping as you laugh yourself senseless in your seat. He has used his incredible skill as a ventriloquist to create a group of characters that that are easily recognizable because of their unusual appearances and unique qualities. Dunham found the diamond in the rough with a group of characters that could just as easily belong to a circus or a mental institute, if Dunham had not come along and recognized their potential. As he has been heard saying: “These guys are my secret weapon, there’s some sort of unspoken rule that allows them to say things…that no mere human could ever get away with, and it’s all under the guise of comedy.”

Jeff Dunham has been labeled a pop culture phenomenon, and it is no wonder as he has amassed a huge following that continues to laugh uproariously at his jokes. The entertainment value is definitely worth seeing, and you will not regret a night that you spent with Jeff Dunham, as his comedy team is one of the best. On the slight chance that you have never experienced the comic magic of Jeff Dunham’s live show, then he recently posted some hilarious Valentine’s Day messages along with Walter, of course Jeff’s are genuinely charming and Walter is…well, Walter. This is one show that is bound to bring out the giggles, if not the full-fledged laughter that you have been missing during these mid-winter blues. And if that is not enough, you are certain to enjoy the excited antics of the puppets, whose entertainment value is through the roof. Tickets may be sold out, but you can still get them online.

Could Laughter Be Therapy?

By suegold

Ask yourself is “laughter a good medicine”? It is still unclear as to the extent of laughter healing toward patient benefit, but researchers have not found any harmful side effects. Perhaps taking time for just a little chuckle each day will keep us laughing a little longer. A belly laugh could be as good for your heart as a workout.

A few minutes of exercise at least three times weekly, and a few minutes each day of laughter, would be a healthy lifestyle. Have you ever thought that a few good belly laughs help your body process its sugar? A study showed that after eating a meal diabetic and non-diabetic patients listened to a very boring lecture. The next day they were given the same meal but were entertained with a comedy show. Levels of blood glucose were lower after the comedy show in both diabetic and non-diabetic, Brain chemistry seems to be changed by laughter. Being able to laugh seems to give a person more control over themselves as well as over the situation.

A good laugh can release anger, fear, and stress. All of these can cause harm to the body over a period of time. We need to use the power of smiles and laughter to help heal as well as prevention. Laughter is a good medicine, but research shows that just the expectation of watching a funny program or video lowered the level of stress, inducing chemicals in the blood and helped the release of stress relievers. It seems that laughter (and humor) may help to prevent heart attacks.

Laughter is a good body workout and will give your midsection a workout, too; help with digestion while strengthening the muscle that holds the abdominal organs in place. A good laugh burns calories equivalent to an exercise bike or rowing machine. Having the ability to laugh is in itself therapy. This keeps your brain alert and helps in learning and retaining. We should use laughter as a way of reducing tension. Usually after a round of laughter there is a more relaxed atmosphere.

Inside the immune system laughter helps in the production of natural killer cells and T cells; a major defense mechanism of the immune system. A good laugh will exercise your lungs. This is a big help for those who suffer from chronic respiratory conditions. If you should start laughing and can’t seem to stop, you may be producing lots of nitric oxide. This is known as our laughing gas. Laughter is an art.

It is amazing how much research has been done, and is being done on laughter. We know that a happy, healthy person laughs more than others. Laughing is by choice. You can choose to laugh or you can choose not to. Laughter is the best medicine available and the fact that it is free makes it even better.

Being able to laugh at situations helps us to improve our disposition and hopefully it would influence the ones around us to improve on theirs. Sometimes just a laugh can dissolve anger and unite troubled friends or family. Of course it has to be a heartfelt laugh to work this miracle. We need this laughter to connect with others in a healthy way. If we can laugh at ourselves, that will be a way of accepting and respecting ourselves. Without this it could lower our self esteem.

That’s a lot of personal attention to get from a laugh, but it will certainly be worth your time and effort. Laughter helps people to feel that they are in control of their situation and this makes the situation seem more manageable. It gives them a feeling of freedom from fears, anger and stress. It certainly improves the quality of life. Laughter brings in positive emotions that can be used to help relieve stress.

If we are to feel free we will have to get rid of stress. Long term stress can have a serious impact on all parts of the body as well as cause us to age faster. A study about stress showed that being involved in a positive event or even knowing you were going to be involved, reduced levels of stress and increased levels of chemicals that would aid in relaxation. These feelings of optimism give a feeling of freedom from stress.

So, laughter proves to be an excellent tool for not only physical therapy, but mental and emotional therapy as well.

Movie Reviews reviews All the days before tomorrow

By Mr D Stevens

This is a lovely romantic movie interspaced with intriguing dream like scenarios.

It tells the story of a young man Wes played by Joey Kern and his strange relationship/friendship with a vibrant and lovely girl Alison played by the superb Alexandra Holden(Friends, Friday Night Clubs) you literally can’t help but fall in love with her zest for life, she literally steals your heart in every scene and no doubt that of Wes,
who although he wants more from the relationship, she just wants to be friends.

We join the movie with Alison with her boyfriend in Tokyo, there is a look of possible sadness/regret as she lays in his arms. One thing is clear, you don’t see that look when she is with Wes.

Alison phones Wes and tells him she wants to pay him a visit even though it is 2 a.m. At first you don’t understand why Wes is reluctant or hesistant for her to come over and pay him a visit. It is all explained in the flash back sequences, which strangely begin with “Not today,” and their previous back packing trips across New Zealand and Australia.

Their conversations are always intriguing, and funny, even mundane things such as watermelons have a comic edge, many in the first steps of a new relationship are sure to identify. You can literally sense the spark between them, and you kind of wonder as the lead actress Alison wonders
if she is truly satisfied simply being just friends. At one of the rare serious moments in the film, she mentions she would like to have children, to which Wes mentions “With me”? She laughs it off and says she doesn’t want to spoil what they have, she is sorry she can’t offer anything more.

I must admit towards the end do some of the flashback sequences come full circle, and it is a rare romantic movie many will identify with and cherish.
